Barking Gecko Trio CB21
Underwoodisaurus milii, also known as the Barking Gecko, is a small species of gecko native to Australia. They are known for their distinctive barking vocalisations and unique behaviours in captivity. Barking geckos are for sale at Blackpool Reptiles and are relatively easy to care for, requiring a diet of insects and a warm, humid environment. They are also known for their docile nature, making them popular pets among reptile keepers.
Barking geckos are medium sized desert geckos who inhabit arid desert and rocky grassland. They require a terrestrial environment with sand/soil bio substrate, leaf litter and rocks can be added to create hiding places, which enables them to feel secure and hide.
Barking geckos require artificial heat in the form of a heat lamp or ceramic to maintain ambient temperatures of 68-75°F and provide a basking area of 78-85°F. Barking geckos are mostly nocturnal, which means they are active and hunt primarily at night. Although they are not always out during the day, an UVB source should be provided as they do need a zone range of UVI 0.7 – 1.0 (Maximum UVI: 1.1 – 3.0 in basking zone).
Barking Geckos are insectivores and should be fed a mixed diet including crickets, locusts, black soldier fly larvae, and cockroaches. These food items should be dusted with Calcium +D3 supplement 1-2 times a week. This dietary supplement will complement the UVB light to promote the health of your gecko’s bones and skin.
