Bengalese Finch CB24
Colourful and active birds who are ideal for an aviary. These birds are small, pretty and easy to keep. Available in many patterns and colours.
Accessories: Enjoys stimulation– provide several types of toy, This bird enjoys daily bathing so provide a bathing bowl in the enclosure.
Diet: Millet, canary pellets and seed mix supplemented with fruit, vegetables and protein. Additional calcium should be added to breeding birds diet to promote egg health.
Housing: Finches should be kept in an aviary or cage and allowed plenty of space to exhibit natural behaviours. Provide perches for finches to separate and exercise enrichment activities. Finches kept in doors should be exercised daily. Minimum enclosure size should be twice the full wingspan of the bird and twice the height of the bird tip to tail.
Handling: Finch’s may not enjoy being handled unless used to it. If you do need to handle the bird, cover the back of the bird with your palm and place the middle and index finger around the neck and use the other fingers to support the body. Be careful not to stress the bird which will cause it to bite.
