Eclipse Leopard Gecko CB24
Leopard geckos are a nocturnal species of gecko that originated in the Middle East. Leopard geckos are a fascinating species that come in many colors and sizes. Genetics control the colors, patterns, and morphs of leopard geckos through selective breeding. Even though leopard geckos may look different, they all need the same care.
Leopard geckos thrive in a desert environment mirroring their natural habitat. Blackpool Reptiles stocks a wide range of substrates. They include sand and sometimes an additional biomaterial to provide a natural desert look. There is no right or wrong substrate from the available range. We recommend finding one that both you and your gecko enjoy. Wild geckos inhabit a sand-soil mix environment. They find cracks in rocks to sleep during the day and are most active at dawn and dusk as well as through the night.
Provide both a basking spot and a cold spot for your gecko; you can achieve this with a heat lamp and an adequate enclosure size. This provides a temperature gradient. If you have a terrarium for your gecko, you should heat it with a heat mat. We recommend a thermostat with every reptile heat source to ensure the parameters are correct for your reptile as well as being safe. Thermostats also save you money as they only allow the heat source to heat to your chosen temperature—similar to central heating.
Add plenty of decor in your gecko’s enclosure; they enjoy climbing on rocks and branches—just make sure you fit them securely- we can advise you if you need help. We stock a range of suitable gecko decor such as plants, bark, rocks, slate and more. Adding live plants enhances the environment. We stock a wide range of reptile-safe desert plants that are suitable for your pet gecko.
Leopard geckos eat a range of insects, including crickets, locusts, mealworms, and more. The majority of your gecko’s diet should be made up of crickets, locusts, and roaches. Worms are a treat to prevent your gecko from becoming overweight. Jumping food like locusts also allows your gecko to exhibit natural enrichment activities.
We have a number of Leopard geckos available including Eclipse Leopard Gecko CB24.
