Here at Blackpool Reptiles, we have a large chameleon breeding facility. Our focus is on Panther Chameleons and their many locales. At Blackpool Reptiles, we produced a wide range of Ambilobe Panther Chameleons for sale during 2023 and 2024. This year, our focus is on producing pure locales like Sambava, Ambilobe (red and blue), Ambanja, Nosy Faly, Nosy Mitsio, and others. Our new in-store display will showcase a greater variety of our Chameleons. This gives customers the opportunity to admire the vibrant colours and intricate patterns up close before purchasing. Additionally, we provide expert care advice and support. This ensures our customers are well-equipped to care for their new chameleon pets.

The majority of the Panther Chameleons available for purchase, both online and in-store, are bred in-house, enabling us to offer our customers robust and genetically varied chameleons.

Care Requirements:

Panther chameleons typically grow to 17-20 inches (43-51 cm) in length and come from Madagascar. Panther chameleons are renowned for their striking colours. They have a remarkable skill in altering their skin colour to match their environment. Their independently moving eyes allow Panther Chameleons to observe in various directions at the same time. This ability helps Panther Chameleons catch food while keeping an eye out for predators.

Panther chameleons need precise temperature and humidity levels to thrive. The recommended temperature range for a panther chameleon is between 75-85°F (24-29°C) during the day and no lower than 65°F (18°C) at night. They also require exposure to UVB lighting. This is essential for their health. The basking temperature for a panther chameleon should be around 90°F (32°C).

When a panther chameleon is unwell or distressed, it might darken or turn black, indicating the need to review temperature, humidity levels, UVB lighting, and basking temperature adjustments. Additionally, adjusting their feeding may also be necessary.Panther chameleons require a forest-style arboreal enclosure with plenty of climbing branches and foliage to mimic their natural habitat.

They use their tail to grip onto branches when moving through the forest, so they need plenty of space and decoration to provide enrichment. Bioactive enclosures are perfect for chameleons as they provide enrichment along with the correct parameters to keep your chameleon healthy and happy. Proper humidity levels are crucial for Panther Chameleons’ health, as they need a humid environment to thrive. Regularly misting their enclosure and offering a dripper, mister, or rain system are essential for hydrating Panther Chameleons.

Panther chameleons also benefit from live plants in their enclosure to help maintain humidity levels and provide a natural environment for them to explore. Live plants help with humidity levels, provide hiding spots, and offer opportunities for the chameleon to exhibit natural behaviours.
