The gold scorpion or Israeli gold scorpion, is a small plump scorpion native to Africa and the Middle East. They enjoy a desert terrestrial environment which resembles the terrain they would experience in the wild. Gold scorpions can be kept together providing there is adequate space and multiple hides created with rocks, bark, dry leaf matter so that they can hide from each other if they choose. If keeping one scorpion, still provide hides with different materials so they can exhibit their wild behaviours.
Gold scorpions are fast moving and may sting or pinch if they are stressed. Take care when moving or cleaning your scorpion and always feed with a set of tweezers or tongs long enough to create a safe space between you and the animal.
Gold scorpions feed on insects and suggested substrates are a mix of coco and sand or something natural like a bio desert mix. A heat mat may be requried as gold scorpions require temps of 75-85 degrees F, heat will be provided from underneath the tank and the scorpion can choose to seek out the heat as it needs.
