Male Emerald Swift WC
Emerald Swift’s (Sceloporus malachiticus) are a small to medium sized lizard originating in Central America. They are similar to Pink Belly Swifts which are in the same family.
They are named after their appearance as the males are Emerald coloured with black speckles and bright blue markings on the neck and undercarriage and black around their throats.
Females are less bright than males and are more of a grey/brown colour but some still develop a green tint to them.
Emerald swifts (Sceloporus malachiticus) Are semi arboral lizars originating in Central America.
There are different ways that you can keep swifts which can either be a glass or wooden vivarium and can be a terrestrial or an arboreal vivarium as both can be adapted to suit.
If using a wooden vivarium, a minimum size of 3 feet should be provided (equivalent to a medium reptihome) to allow these stunning lizards to exhibit their natural behaviors, including lots of running around.
