Moro Leachianus Gecko CB23
The New Caledonian Giant Gecko, also known as the Leachie or Leachianus Gecko is native to New Caledonia. It is known to be the largest gecko in existence. New Caledonia is also the native ground to the well-known Crested Gecko and Gargoyle Gecko who have some similarities to the Leachie.
The leachianus gecko is extremely pretty and at such a huge adult size of around 14-17 inches including tail, a mix of greens, pinks, oranges, greys and whites amongst other colours can be clearly seen.
Needless to say, Leachianus geckos need a large enclosure as adults and they are better to be kept alone. Leachianus geckos can be aggressive towards other geckos and are not likely to live well together. They can be kept together as a breeding pair, but they should be monitored and separated should signs of aggression be seen.
Leachianus geckos enjoy a forest environment with high humidity and temperatures of around 78-82°f with a night-time drop to 70°f. They are nocturnal and so do not require UVB, although some keepers report that some UVB can be beneficial.
Leachies enjoy Pangea, Repashy and other fruit mixes along with live food such as crickets and cockroaches. Adults may be offered pinkie mice as a treat.
All of our Leachianus Geckos are bred from the adults which we have in-store in our breeding collection. We recommend that buyers come and see the gecko they want to buy in person, or ask for additional photos as they can appear very differently when their colours are fully fired up.
