General Information: Nidularia are epiphytic bromeliads suited to use in forest set ups. You can attach and grow them on rocks or branches, or in a well drained soil.

If you plant these in waterlogged conditions, this will cause them to quickly rot as their roots are used for attachment rather than collecting water or nutrients. These plants prefer light shade and can be easily scorched by hot lights. Plant them in a fairly bright position, but with some shading from direct light.

Apart from the aesthetic appeal of a planted terrarium there are some very real, tangible benefits for the animals. Living plants provide natural cover and climbing perches, shade, basking sites and maintain natural humidity. Just as live plants in an office can improve workers well-being, live plants in a terrarium will have the same effect for animals.
