Psittacus Hand Rearing Formula High Energy – for African Greys, Macaws, Senegals etc

Use

This product is intended for hand-rearing parrot species which require high fat diets such as African Grey parrots, Macaws, Senegals and other poicephalus parrots (Psittacus, Ara, Poicephalus, etc.) from the moment that the feathers begin to emerge. It contains the most suitable vegetable fat for these species: palm oil. It also contains papaya, which promotes digestive transit.

Directions

It is a continuation hand feeding formula. For example, in Grey Parrots it is used from 3rd week of life when the feathers begin to emerge. It is advisable to use a first-age formula for younger birds, such as Psittacus Neonatal Forumula. It is designed to constitute 100% of the parrot’s diet. During weaning stage, it should be gradually replaced by solid food. Mix with lukewarm water to a concentration of 20-25% (similar texture of a shaken yogurt). Store in a cool dry place after opening (while refrigeration is not advised, freezing is possible if it is hermetically sealed).

Average consumption of formula per serving is around 7-10 ml per 100 g of body weight. It is advisable to provide each individual chick the adequate amount and number of feeds according to their stage of development. Must take into account that parrots crop should be empty before each feeding.
