Created Geckos are one of the most popular reptile pets, however there are a number of other geckos and lizards which have similar requirements. The products in our “Gecko” shop by pet section would also be suitable for Gargoyle geckos, Leachianus geckos, Day geckos, Anoles and other forest type lizards.

Gecko housing

There are several set-up kits availalable for your gecko depending on species and age. We recommend a growing your enclosure with your pet starting at a hatchling or starter kit, with this being upgraded as they grow. Please contact us to discuss the requirements of your pet gecko.

Gecko Food

There are many different prepared and live-foods available for gecko and lizard species. Fruit mixes are perfect for fruit eating species and often contain the goodness of insects in the ingredients. You should offer live-food to your gecko a couple of times a week to allow for natural enrichment and hunting. Ensure you remove any uneaten live-food in the morning so as not to stress your pet. Lighting products

Most forest geckos and lizards require a low level UVB, some higher just depending on where they originate. There are different types of lamps which supply UVB and depending on your enclosure this can be via tube or compact.

Heating products

Many forest geckos and lizards prefer cooler temperatures but it is still important to provide a heat source and manage this with the use of a thermostat to ensure your pet is receiving the correct levels of heat to process their food and remain healthy.

Bowls & Dishes

Water bowls should be placed in lizard enclosures however you may choose to use a sprayer to provide water for geckos. Some lizards can only see water when its moving, so most forest lizards enjoy regular sprays throughout the day. Food bowls can be used for worms, jelly pots and prepared foods.

Caves & Hides

Geckos and forest lizards spend most of their time high in the trees and when they are active jumping from one branch to another. Hides can still be provided as they may seek them during their sleeping hours and add a visual appeal to the enclosure.
