Our company is made up of our bricks and mortar store in central blackpool and our online store.

Purchasing from our online store and our shop have different processes which we will explain in this blog.

Our Bricks and Mortar Store

Our store is located in Central/ South Blackpool on Lytham Road. This gives good access to those living in Blackpool as well as those traveling with its close location to the M55. The store is located on a main bus route as well as being 5-10 minutes walk from the closest tram stop.

Our team is made up of our store sales and maintenance teams, our director and our website and administration manager who works away from the premises most of the time- you may not always see all of us, but we are all working on integral parts of the business in order to provide you the best service possible.

We have a large selection of in-store displays so you can see our reptiles for sale on the shop floor. We also have a large private breeding area where we work on our captive bred stock. We do not have enough displays to show you all of our stock at once so if you do want to buy something which you can’t see, either speak to a member of staff or visit our website where you can see all of our reptiles for sale.

We stock many reptile dry goods in our store along with a large and fresh selection of live-foods and frozen foods, vivariums, set-up up kits, substrates, reptile tools and all of the things you need to care for your reptile pet.

We do not have space in our store to stock all of our available products, so if you head to our online site you will find a larger selection of products which are competitively priced.

We also stock a wide range of aquatic and bird products as well as a large cold water and tropical display and captive bred birds.

We are able to order products in for our customers so if you need a product which you cannot find in-store or online, please speak to a member or staff or send us an email to check availability- this includes live animals.

Please note: we do not sell venomous animals so please do not ask us to order them for you.

When you place an order on our website, we dispatch most of our products (except animals) from our main warehouse and not from the store. This allows us to send your items quickly and at their freshest. Our website products are competitively priced and if you find a like for like product (excluding animals) on another website, we will price match this. All we ask for is a screenshot of the price so we can validate it and then we will discount your product to the same price. Note: Like for like means the same product, brand, colour, size, wattage, product code, SKU etc.

There may be times when we have to send your item from store for instance if our warehouse is out of stock, but we have the product in store- we will inform you in this circumstance. If we do not have a product in stock which you have purchased on your order, we will contact you and offer you a replacement product, a back order (we will hold your order until the item/s are in stock) or a full refund.

Due to our online site being dealt with by the warehouse, our in-store team are often unable to deal with website order enquiries so we ask you to email so that our website administrator can help you. We prefer email over phone call so that we have a record of the details and we may request you send us images of your order.

When you purchase an animal from our online store, you can either arrange to collect the animal from store or we can deliver it via specialist reptile courier. There is a fee for reptile courier which starts at £55 UK, £85 Scotland, £95 London- for more information on our courier service please see our courier page.

If you call us or speak to us in-store about this, please do not be offended if we ask you to email us. This is so we can ensure that your enquiry is dealt with as efficiently as possible. We try to deal with many enquiries by email so that we have a record in case another member of staff needs to be involved in your enquiry.

We get asked many questions about our store, and althught this information is available throughout our website, sometimes it is helpful to have it collated on one page.

Q: Does your store have parking?

A: Yes. There is free parking outside the store, which is available for an hour, or if you drive down Bagot Street down the side of the store and there is spaces available behind the shop, please feel free to park there being mindful that you may need to move if we have to dash out for a delivery. There is also parking around the corner from the store towards the football stadium.

Q: Are you close to the tram /bus stop?

A: Yes. We are located towards south shore where there is a tram stop which is a 10min walk to the store. There is a bus stop located just down the road from the shop. We are also located close to Yeadon way which merges from the M55 and the South Shore Train Station.

Q: How old do I have to be to come to your store and purchase?

A: We ask for no under 16s to be left unattended in the store and we are not able to sell animals to anyone under the age of 18. Dry goods and products can be purchased by anyone in the store providing those rules are followed. Please do not be offended if we ask your age in store.

Q: If I come and buy a pet, do I need to bring something to collect it in?

A: No. We sell all our animals in storage tubs to transport them home. If you live further than an hour away you may wish to bring a blanket or poly box to place the tub in to keep the animal warm. If travelling in a car we recommend you keep the car warm but not hot. During colder times you can purchase instant disposable heat packs in store to travel home with. We may be able to help you with a poly box if you contact us prior to travelling.

Q: If I see an animal I want to buy from your store, should I come to the store to purchase it?

A: We are a large company with more than one avenue of sale and although we try to keep all of our stock up to date online, there are sometimes things that slip through the net when we are very busy or short staffed. If you are travelling far we always recommend giving us an email or a call to check stock levels so that you are not disappointed if the animal has sold by the time you get to us. You are able to reserve animals for collection or purchase on our website and collect in store.
