Chocolate Millipede
Most millipedes have around 100 legs, usually a pair on each segment of their body. There are around 7000 species of millipede in the world originating in many places and generally preferring warm damp areas.
The millipede diet depends on the species and part of the world where it originates. Most millipedes will feed on a mix of veg, leaf litter and rotting wood however some species will only eat one of these types of food.
Millipedes are generally docile creatures however care should be taken when handling and cleaning the enclosure. Millipedes are armed with a liquid which they are able to secrete when threatened which can cause irritation to humans. Hands should always be washed before and after handling or cleaning your pet millipede.
