Sapphire Beetle CB Larvae
Sapphire beetle larvae require a specific environment and diet to thrive. They should be kept in a container with a substrate of peat moss, coconut coir, or a mixture of both. The container should have a lid with ventilation holes to allow for airflow. The temperature should be kept between 75-85°F (24-29°C) with a humidity level of around 70%.
For their diet, sapphire beetle larvae feed on decaying wood, so providing them with a source of rotting wood or a commercial beetle diet is necessary. It’s important to keep their substrate moist but not waterlogged, as this can lead to mold growth and harm the larvae.
Regular cleaning of the container is also crucial to prevent the buildup of waste and bacteria. As they grow, sapphire beetle larvae will shed their exoskeleton several times, so providing a safe space for them to molt is also important.
