Yellow Bellied Toad 3cm
Yellow bellied toads are small grown dwelling toads originating in central and southern europe where they live in ponds, marshes, streams and river edges.
They are a dark, knobbly looking toad with bright yellows under their belly which is actually used to warn predators that they might be something nasty and not worth eating. They are very similar to the fire bellied toad which is commonly kept in the hobby and is a subspecies of the same family
Yellow bellied toads feed purely on insects which should be dusted with calcium +d3 powder 2-3 times a week. Provide a semi-aquatic environment which can be achieved with a paludarium tank or a large water container inside your enclosure which should only ever contain dechlorinated water (this can be bottled water or water treated with dechlorinator) as clorine burns the skin.
