ProRep Live plant. Bell Succulent (Medium)
General Information: Native to semi-desert regions of Central America, Echeveria or Bell Succulent is a popular succulent plant known for its rosette-shaped leaves and vibrant colours. It requires well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight to thrive, making it a great choice for both indoor and outdoor gardens. Protect this plant from frost and extreme heat to prevent damage to their leaves.
In the terrarium, succulents make colourful additions to desert style enclosures. Succulents are perfect for pets like Leopard Geckos, Bearded Dragons, and other lizards originating from desert style environments.
Echeverias have smooth leaves and are succulents that you can plant in your arid enclosure. They form low rosettes close to the ground and are especially attractive when used us foreground planting, or between rocks. Planted in combination with Aloe species they make an interesting display. Like most desert plants Echeverias need bright lighting, and a free draining soil. Water as the soil dries out. but before they are completely dry. If you set your tank up with deep bio-active substrate then you can plant into the terarrium. Otherwise you should keep your plant in a pot which you can then disguise with substrate and decor. This means you can water as necessary without making the whole substrate too damp.
Apart from the aesthetic appeal of a planted terrarium there are some very real, tangible benefits for the animals. Living plants provide natural cover and climbing perches, shade, basking sites and maintain natural humidity. Just as live plants in an office can improve workers well-being, live plants in a terrarium will have the same effect for animals.
