Guzmanias are epiphytic bromeliads which are perfect for your forest style enclosure. You can grow them attached to rocks or branches, or in a well drained soil. If you plant in waterlogged conditions, they will quickly rot as they use their roots for attachment rather than collecting water or nutrients.

General Information: Bromeliads are epiphytic plants, meaning they can grow on other plants or surfaces. They are known for their vibrant flower spikes. They can last for several months and are a stunning addition to the terrarium.

Apart from the aesthetic appeal of a planted terrarium there are some very real, tangible benefits for the animals. Living plants provide natural cover and climbing perches, shade, basking sites and maintain natural humidity. Just as live plants in an office can improve workers well-being. Live plants in a terrarium will have the same effect for animals.
